The Summer Qur’anic Centers Curriculum
First Level
For Second and Third Grade students
Understanding the importance of the curriculum in building the learner’s personality within aspects of human growth (physical, cognitive, emotional, and motor development), a thorough development process for the curriculum of the Permanent Qur’anic Centers took place.

Regarding the number of notes and remarks in teachers’ questionnaires, a curriculum development process became essential to encounter the need of a curriculum which sustains modern development, considers the circumstances our boys and girls are living in, regards their actual needs, and harmonizes with the goals system which the society tries to achieve.

The Summer Qur’anic Centers Curriculum includes five levels for males and females (except the fifth level as it is divided into two parts; one for males, and another for females, topics of which concern only the female students). Most of the concentration is given to the Holy Qur’an (tilawa, tafseer, hifz). The curriculum does not overlook the importance of the various Islamic studies but it contains a group of lessons that enrich the learners’ experiences in Islamic studies topics that concern them.

The first level of the Summer Qur’anic Centers Curriculum addresses the following surahs for the lessons of tilawa (ritual recitation of Qur’an), tajweed (recitation of Qur’an), and hifz (memorizing ayaat): At-Taariq, Al-A'la, Al-Ghaashiyah, Al-Fajr, Al-Balad, Ash-Shams, Al-Layl, Adh-Dhuha, Ash-Sharh,At-Teen, Al-’Alaq, Al-Qadr, Al-Bayyinah, Az-Zalzala, Al’Aadiyaat, Al-Qaari’ah, At-Takaathur, Al-’Asr, Al-Humaza, Al-Feel, Quraysh, Al-Ma’oon, Al-Kawthar, Al-Kaafiroon, An-Nasr, Al-Masad, Al-Ikhlaas, Al-Falaq, An-Naas, An-Naba’, An-Naazi’aat, ‘Abasa, At-Takweer, Al-Infitaar, Al-Mutaffifeen, Al-Inshiqaaq, and Al-Burooj.

The following are the surahs for hifz (memorizing ayat): Al-A'la, Al-Ghaashiyah, Al-Fajr, Al-Balad, Ash-Shams, Al-Layl, Adh-Dhuha, Ash-Sharh,At-Teen, Al-’Alaq, Al-Qadr, Al-Bayyinah, Az-Zalzala, Al’Aadiyaat, Al-Qaari’ah, At-Takaathur, Al-’Asr, Al-Humaza, Al-Feel, Quraysh, Al-Ma’oon, Al-Kawthar, Al-Kaafiroon, An-Nasr, Al-Masad, Al-Ikhlaas, Al-Falaq, An-Naas.

It addresses other topics from the Biography of Prophet Muhammad (s) about the Prophet’s (s) lineage, birth, nursing, characteristics, work before the revelation, the Fujjar war, and the Fudool treaty.

It includes hadeeth on the manners of eating and drinking, and removing dirt from the road. Also, it contains lessons about the life of some characters and heroes from the time of Prophet Muhammad (p) such as: Anas Ibn Maalik (raa), Abdullah Ibn Abbas(raa), Alhasan Ibn Ali (raa), and Aisha Bint Abu Bakr (raa).

In addition, the book presents topics in fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) such as wudu’ and Salah.
