Teachings of the Qur'an (textbooks and workbooks), Volumes I, II, III, represent the first systematic attempt to present the teachings of the Qur'an for elementary level children at their own level of understanding. This textbook is an irreplaceable source of information for young Muslims about those Qur'anic teachings connected with Akhlaq (character).
Each lesson starts with a selected 'Ayah which gives the basic message of the Qur'an as covered in that lesson. It follows with transliteration, translation, and explanation. The seven lessons appearing in the first section deal with the meaning of Akhlaq, its sources and foundation, as well as the personal, family, and social responsibilities of a Muslim. Obligations towards parents are discussed comprehensively.
Sections II and III deal with right actions; such as kind deeds, justice, trust, sadaqah, self-sacrifice… etc. Also dealt with are unethical actions, such as mischief, making fun of others, duplicity, etc. Each lesson begins with a quote from the Qur'an and this textbook may be used at the upper elementary level.
Each lesson is concluded with a summary of important points and a list of difficult words. The lesson is concluded with an appropriate selection of an 'Ayah or Haddith, which further explains the message of the lesson. A glossary of Arabic words provides the vocabulary of the Qur’anic text word for word, while a standard glossary is provided to define the difficult words. Developed by a gifted classroom teacher, this workbook is an effective instrument for the study and comprehension of 33 important topics concerning the teachings of the Qur'an.
Each lesson demonstrates a single essential moral value to the reader. The activities in the workbook assist students in comprehending each moral principle and then show how to put into action the value in their daily living. This indispensable workbook underpins the awareness of Qur'anic ethics through the use of a variety of instructional skills.
Students will be able to fully exploit their understanding of what they have learned in the accompanying textbook. This series is written especially for children, but we are sure the adults will find it equally informative and beneficial.
